Advocacy

The goal of SEAPAX Advocacy is to ensure that Congress continues to make Peace Corps a
priority. This includes maintenance or expansion of program funding (depending on budget
realities), passage of legislation that guarantees the safety and security of volunteers, and
continued adherence to Peace Corps values both here and abroad. Recent advocacy efforts
include phone calls, emails, visits to senate and congressional representatives, letter-writing
campaigns, participation in the Peace Corps National Days of Action in D.C. and college campus
panel discussions. All actions are important, and the Advocacy Team welcomes volunteers who
wish to lobby on behalf of Peace Corps.
